About the Artist
The Guerrilla Girls, formed in NYC in 1985, are an anonymous group of feminist, female artists devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world. The group is known for wearing gorilla masks in public and using facts, humour and outrageous visuals to expose discrimination and corruption in politics, pop culture, film and art. Over the past 30+ years, they have shared their message through hundreds of posters, street projects, actions, books, and billboards. Their retrospective in Madrid attracted thousands of visitors, and they continue to travel the world inspiring others to create their own effective activist campaigns.
